Questions to Ask When You Call

Ask every company the same questions, then compare their answers.

How to choose a radon mitigation company
Have you worked on homes like mine?Foundation type, a finished basement or a private well can change the job.
Will you get my level under 4.0?Ask if they guarantee it in writing, and what happens if they don’t.
Do you have warranty cover, and for how long?Ask about the system and the fan separately.
Who does the test after the install?By law it has to be done within 30 days. Ask if it’s included.
Where will the pipe and fan go?Inside or outside the house, and where you’ll see the pipe.

Your Home Must Be Tested After Install

By law in Pennsylvania, your home has to be tested between 24 hours and 30 days after the system is switched on. Your installer is responsible for making sure it’s done, so ask each company if it’s included in their price.
